About Me
Hi, I’m Amy Hess—a food, travel, and lifestyle photographer born and raised in the Midwest. I earned my BFA from the University of Missouri, but it was my time living in Chicago that truly shaped my creative direction. The city’s energy and diversity pushed me to explore storytelling through photography in a more intentional, emotional way.
My work is driven by a love for capturing real moments—images that feel lived-in, not staged. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work in marketing, where I learned how impactful strong visuals can be. Recently, I’ve shifted my focus to studio photography through Bon Aperture, diving deeper into technique and refining my craft.
These days, I split my time living and working in the 417 with my husband and our three quirky pups. Whether I’m shooting in a studio or on the road, I’m always chasing the next story to tell—honest, beautiful, and full of heart.
